AFTER you have all your written homework scores in the MyLab gradebook inside Brightspace (I repeat, AFTER), you will need to take the following steps to put zeroes in all empty grade boxes, and AFTER that, follow the instructions below to drop the THREE lowest online homework scores. (We are not dropping any written homework scores.) Step 1. Putting zeroes in empty boxes: -------------------------------------- In the left column of the Course Home window in MyLab, click on Course Tools near the bottom, then select Gradebook in the left column near the bottom of the new menu. Click on the Manage Incompletes tab. Make sure the For students with work in-progress tests or quizzes box is checked and the Submit current scores radio button is selected. Also, make sure the Submit zeros for students who have not started the assignment box is checked. (These are probably selected by default.) Click on the Assignment box at the top of the list to select all the assignments with one click. Scroll down to the very bottom and click on Submit. You'll need to do this for each of your sections. Step 2. Dropping the 3 lowest online hwk scores ----------------------------------------------- In the left column of the Course Home window, click on Course Tools near the bottom, then select Gradebook in the left column near the bottom of the new menu. In the dropdown menu of the More Tools tab (on the right), select Drop lowest scores In the Homework Category, select 3 from the dropdown menu. Click on Drop Lowest Scores at the bottom. Now click on Gradebook in the left hand column and under View Results By, select the Assignments dropdown menu and choose All Assignments. You should see a list of your students with all their scores scrolled off to the right. The first column marked Overall Score is the one we will use to determine final grades. If you click on the Overall Scores heading, you can order the spreadsheet by descending overall score. After I share the cut-offs for grades with you, this will make it easy to group your students in grade categories. ---
